Franklin County is a coastal county located in the panhandle of the U.S. state of Florida. As of 2000, the population is 11,057. The U.S. Census Bureau 2005 estimate for the county is 10,177. Its county seat is Apalachicola, Florida.
History
Franklin County was created in 1832. It was named for Benjamin Franklin, famous scientist, printer, and author.
