Liberty County, Florida
Liberty County is a county located in the state of Florida. As of 2000, the population is 7,021. Its county seat is Bristol, Florida. Liberty County is a prohibition or dry county. It is also the least populated county in Florida, largely because the Apalachicola National Forest occupies half the county. However, in the 2000 census, it had only one less person than the second least populated county in Florida: Lafayette County, Florida.
History
Liberty County was created in 1855. It was named for the popular American ideal, liberty.
